Lebanese Cuisine
with a Twist

Semsom was founded in 2008 by Christine Assouad, one of Arabian Business’ Top 100 Most Powerful Arab Women. She and her team began Semsom’s mission by touring around the villages of Lebanon. Where they hunted for new takes on old recipes and accumulated more than 1,500 recipes, all directly from their guests!

Today Semsom has mastered the creation of healthy and delicious Lebanese dishes with a modern twist, made from fresh ingredients and innovative pairings like hummus and sumac, orange blossom water, and osmalieh vermicelli. Semsom elevates everyday dishes while honoring the spirit of Lebanon’s rich food culture.

By 2011, the first Semsom franchise opened in Jeddah, and later that year, Semsom had been named the fastest-growing company in Lebanon. Semsom continues to grow and is now in five cities in the Middle East: Muscat | Dubai | Suhar | Cairo | RAK and more yet to come.
